Our Journey to Mommyato

In 2016, an element of Mommyato was developed and launched as a virtual breastfeeding assistant known as Check With Ellie. Ellie was created in response to the lack of access to immediate and credible breastfeeding information. Through the following four years, we spoke with new postpartum moms and realized the dearth of information that focuses on the mom, extended far beyond breastfeeding. As a result, Mommyato was born as THE digital postpartum companion to prepare, guide, and support new moms through their fourth trimester.

Founder - Business Development

Witnessing the birth of a new life is a fascinating and humbling experience.

His children's birth changed everything and inspired George to create online services for new and expecting parents.

Many products can solve your problem. Mommyato, on the other hand, was designed for practicing a preventative approach. Just in time, relevant information paired with helpful solutions improves confidence.

George spends most of his time enjoying sports and family when he's not working.

Dr. Sara F. Voit, MD, PhD, MSPH

Curriculum Lead

Sara is a recognized leader and entrepreneur in the healthcare learning & organizational development space. She has over 15 years of global experience in leading large-scale organizational transformational change through the building and implementation of learning programs for organizations including the NYC Department of Education and Planned Parenthood.

Sara holds an MD and PhD in Education and Organizational Strategies and MSPH in Outcomes Analysis. Sara is a published researcher and former competitive dogsled racer.

  • Nicole Belcher

    Medical Writer

    Nicole’s passionate about OB and Women’s health. She’s certified in Inpatient Obstetrics and worked in high volume/high risk inpatient OB units including L&D, Antepartum, OR and newborn care. Nicole taught fetal heart monitoring courses for the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) and was a Neonatal Resuscitation Program instructor for several years.

    In her spare time, Nicole loves being outside! She enjoys hiking, biking, camping, swimming, and stargazing.

    Jessica Boardman is an entrepreneur with a passion for writing, culture, and community outreach. She is a copywriter and content strategist with a focus on healthcare platforms. She’s worked in medical, surgical, and mother/baby specialties, and as an RN educator. Jessica holds a Master of Arts in Integrative Health and Healing.

    Jessica is most inspired when learning from other cultures’ health practices, while contributing her professional experience towards the development of innovative, yet vital, healthcare services.

    Medical Writer

    Hollis Forster has been active in women’s health for more than 30 years. She’s served women, from puberty through menopause in direct services through her administrative and leadership roles with Planned Parenthood’s national office and affiliates.

    Holly has participated on state and national committees for the advancement of women’s health care and for quality and patient safety initiatives. She also served on the clinical advisory committee of the Association for Reproductive Health Professionals. Holly’s expertise lies in gender affirming care as well as all aspects of ambulatory reproductive health care services.

  • Sarah Schulze

    Medical Writer

    Sarah Schulze is a board certified pediatric nurse practitioner. She earned her RN from Indiana State University and has experience in a variety of settings, including critical care, surgery, and pediatrics. Sarah is also certified in nutrition, mental health and as a lactation counselor.

    Helping children and babies is where Sarah’s heart lies. Since becoming an NP she has been helping families raise their children with healthy foundations.

Her signature minimalistic, linear and forward-thinking design aesthetic has afforded her the opportunity to play a pivotal role in the online success of large and small businesses globally.

    Yanira Suarez is a UX/UI Designer based in NYC with a background in business management. Yanira has worked with a number of start-ups and small businesses in the tristate area.
